Poughkeepsie Stabbing Leaves One Injured, Investigation Ongoing

Poughkeepsie Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred early Saturday morning (April 5) following a large street fight near Main Street and Crannell Street. Officers responded to the scene around 3:30 a.m. and found a man with multiple stab wounds to his stomach. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and is expected to recover.

Authorities have not yet made any arrests and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The incident is part of a broader investigation into violence in the area.

The police are also investigating a separate stabbing incident that took place later the same day near Academy and Cannon Streets. According to Mid Hudson News, a 51-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the chest multiple times. The victim was found near Goodnight Kenny’s Bar and later died at the hospital. Police arrested Robert Robinson, a 59-year-old resident of Poughkeepsie, on murder charges in connection with this incident.
