The Dutchess County Comptroller's Office has released a survey to assess the impact of federal funding cuts and job losses in the county. The survey, available online at dutchessny.gov, aims to gather data to guide future economic planning and support community needs.
According to a press release from the Comptroller’s Office, nearly $35 million in federal investment has been lost in Dutchess County. This includes a $2.4 million loss in earmarks for the county's real-time crime center and public safety radio system.
Comptroller Dan Aymar-Blair emphasized the importance of being informed about federal funding issues, stating, "Being well-informed is the antidote to anxiety." The survey will help local, state, and federal leaders understand the community's challenges and plan accordingly.
The survey allows residents and organizations to report instances where federal cuts have impacted them. The collected data will be verified and shared with policymakers to help them understand the community's needs.
