Poughkeepsie police are investigating the homicide of a 78-year-old woman who was stabbed to death in her home on Oak Crescent. The incident occurred on Monday (April 7) around 1:20 p.m. when police responded to a domestic dispute call. Upon arrival, officers found Olga Coley suffering from a stab wound to the chest. Despite being transported to a local hospital, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
A person of interest, identified as Coley's 42-year-old daughter, Holley Coley, was found in the attic of the residence and taken into custody for questioning. Holley, who resides in New York City, is being held as the investigation continues. According to Detective Lieutenant Sean McCarthy, the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no threat to the general public.
