In Kingston, Alexandria Wojcik has been removed from the Democratic primary race for Ulster County clerk. The county's election commissioners disqualified Wojcik after she fell short by nine signatures of the required one thousand needed to qualify for the June primary ballot. Wojcik, who is currently the deputy mayor of the village of New Paltz, plans to appeal the decision. She intends to challenge Acting Clerk Taylor Bruck, who is also running in the primary.

Wojcik has until Friday (April 25) to file her appeal with the state Supreme Court. The outcome of this appeal will determine whether she can continue her campaign against Bruck in the upcoming election. According to the Daily Freeman, both candidates had initially filed petitions with the Ulster County Board to compete in the June 24 primary election. However, the recent decision has temporarily halted Wojcik's campaign efforts.

The race for Ulster County clerk is significant, as it will decide who will take on the responsibilities of managing public records and other administrative duties within the county. The upcoming primary election will be a crucial step in determining the Democratic candidate for this position.
