Alexandria Wojcik, a candidate for Ulster County Clerk, has filed an appeal after being removed from the primary ballot. Last week, county elections commissioners ruled that Wojcik, a Democrat, did not have enough valid petition signatures to qualify for the ballot. Wojcik, who is currently serving as deputy mayor in New Paltz, aims to challenge Taylor Bruck in the June primary to determine who will represent the Democratic Party in the November election.

The appeal process is underway, but it remains unclear when the state Supreme Court will hear Wojcik's case. Wojcik's campaign is focused on securing a primary election for the Democratic Party line, which she believes is crucial for a fair representation in the upcoming election. In an email response to the Daily Freeman, Wojcik confirmed her commitment to pursuing the appeal and ensuring her candidacy remains viable.

The outcome of the appeal will determine whether Wojcik can continue her campaign against Bruck, who is currently the sole candidate on the Democratic primary ballot. The decision could impact the dynamics of the race and the party's representation in the November election.
