NYSP Finds Missing Man Dead in Catskill Creek

New York State Police (NYSP) have located the body of Ian J. Shaham, a 31-year-old man from Catskill who was reported missing on Saturday (May 3). Troopers discovered his body near a creek by a residence on Cauterskill Road on Sunday (May 4). According to Hudson Valley Post, there were no signs of foul play in Shaham's death.

The NYSP began their investigation at the Cauterskill Road residence after receiving the missing person report. Upon returning to the location, they found Shaham's body in the creek nearby. The Greene County Sheriff's marine recovery unit assisted in the search and recovery efforts.

Authorities have not released the cause of death, but confirmed that there is no indication of foul play. Shaham had ties to several local schools, including Hudson High School and Catskill Senior High School, as noted in his Facebook profile.

The discovery of Shaham's body brings a tragic end to the search, and further details about the circumstances surrounding his death have not been disclosed. The investigation remains ongoing.
