The Dutchess County Drug Task Force has arrested Michael Jarvis, 49, on multiple felony charges related to drug possession and intent to sell. Jarvis was apprehended on Sunday (May 4) during a traffic stop in the Town of Northeast, New York, after deputies discovered over 150 bags of fentanyl and more than an ounce of crack cocaine in his vehicle, both packaged for sale.

The investigation began after the task force received tips about drug activity in the Cooper Road area. In response, deputies increased patrols in the area, leading to the traffic stop conducted by Deputy Dylan Merritt. Following the discovery of the drugs, task force agents assisted in processing the evidence. Jarvis has been charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and one felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned in the Town of Northeast Justice Court and is currently held in the Dutchess County Jail.

Detective Sergeant Adam Harris, the task force coordinator, emphasized the importance of community involvement in combating drug-related crimes. He stated, "When the community provides credible information on narcotic and dangerous drug activity in their neighborhoods, the drug task force will react quickly." Authorities encourage anyone with information about drug activity in the county to contact the task force's confidential tip line.
