A former substitute teacher from Columbia County, Christina Lambert, 41, has been arrested for allegedly contacting a student inappropriately. Lambert, who worked at the Taconic Hills Central School District, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to the New York State Police, the complaint was received on April 30 (2025), and an investigation revealed that Lambert sent inappropriate messages to the student via Snapchat. She was arraigned in Taghkanic Town Court and issued a full stay-away order of protection for the victim.

The Taconic Hills Central School District is fully cooperating with the investigation. Superintendent Lynnette Brunger stated, "We are bound, legally and ethically, to protect the privacy of those involved." The district has also provided counseling and mental health resources for students affected by the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and the State Police have asked anyone with additional information to contact them at 845-677-7300. Lambert's case highlights the importance of maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
