Two men have been charged with burglary following a daytime incident in Poughkeepsie. On Tuesday (May 13), officers responded to a report of a burglary on Pershing Avenue just before noon. Although the suspects had fled the scene, police quickly identified them as 46-year-old Christopher Cortez and 36-year-old Eric Espinosa.
The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department located the suspects shortly after on the 700 block of Main Street, where they were arrested without incident. Both men face charges of second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny, as reported by Daily Voice.
The police confirmed that the stolen items were recovered, and both suspects are being held pending arraignment. The swift identification and arrest highlight the efficiency of the Poughkeepsie police in handling such incidents.
