The Poughkeepsie City School District has appointed Gregory Mott as the new superintendent, effective July 1. Mott, who has served as the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education for five years, will take over from Dr. Eric Jay Rosser, who announced his resignation effective June 30.
Mott is recognized for his leadership in spearheading the elementary school reconfiguration and transportation plans within the district. With nearly 30 years of experience in educational leadership, he is expected to bring continuity and stability during this transition period.
According to the Poughkeepsie City School District, the Board of Education is committed to ensuring a smooth transition and will continue to update the community as they move forward in selecting the next permanent superintendent.
