Woman Faces Court for Alleged Child Assault in Kingston

Brittany Santaliz, a 33-year-old from Kingston, New York, is appearing in court today (May 28) following allegations of assaulting a child at the Kingston Motel in the Town of Ulster. According to the New York State Police, the incident occurred on Friday (May 23) around 3:15 p.m. when Santaliz allegedly entered a motel room unlawfully and struck a 12-year-old child multiple times in the face.

The child's parents managed to remove Santaliz from the room and contacted the authorities. Emergency Medical Services evaluated the victim, who sustained minor injuries, at the scene. Following the investigation, police arrested Santaliz and charged her with burglary in the first degree, a Class B felony, assault in the third degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17, also a Class A misdemeanor.

Santaliz was arraigned in the Ulster County Centralized Arraignment Part and is currently held in the Ulster County Jail with bail set at $5,000 cash, $10,000 bond, or $20,000 partially secured bond. She is scheduled to appear in Ulster County Court today at 2:00 p.m. for further proceedings.

The New York State Police continue to handle the case.
