Five people have been displaced following a fire that broke out on Tuesday (May 27) afternoon in Kingston. The Kingston Fire Department responded to the incident at 28 Rogers Street around 2 p.m. after receiving reports of a fire on the roof of the residential building.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the blaze at the two-story house, which also has an attic. The location of the fire presented challenges due to its limited access, prompting the department to raise a second alarm. Firefighters tackled the flames from multiple fronts, including from an aerial ladder, the attic, and the second floor.

According to Hudson Valley One, the fire was extinguished after approximately 90 minutes, with no reported injuries. However, the blaze left five residents unable to return to their home. The American Red Cross is providing emergency assistance to those affected.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, as reported by Daily Freeman.
