Parolee Arrested in Hudson Valley Drug Bust

In Poughkeepsie, a man on parole was arrested for drug dealing following a successful operation by the Neighborhood Recovery Unit and Poughkeepsie SWAT. The arrest took place just before 4:45 PM on Wednesday (May 28), when authorities executed a search warrant. During the search, they recovered crack cocaine, cash, packaging materials, and other evidence.

The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Richard Bivens Jr., is a two-time convicted felon. He has been charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third and fourth degrees. Bivens is currently awaiting arraignment.

The operation highlights ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat drug-related activities in the Hudson Valley area. The Neighborhood Recovery Unit and SWAT teams continue to work together to ensure community safety by targeting illegal drug operations.
