A United States Postal Service (USPS) mail carrier sustained minor injuries after an accident in Catskill on Friday (May 30). According to reports, the incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Route 32 when a Dodge Journey rear-ended the mail truck. The impact pushed the USPS vehicle off the road and into a stone pillar at the end of a residential property.
The mail carrier, whose identity has not been disclosed, was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released. The Dodge Journey involved in the crash sustained damage to its front bumper and hood and was later towed away.
The accident highlights the potential dangers mail carriers face while on duty, as they navigate various road conditions to deliver mail. The incident remains under investigation by local authorities to determine the exact cause of the crash.
