Catskill Fire Department Extinguishes Assisted Living Fire

The Catskill Fire Department successfully extinguished a stove fire at a senior housing facility on Broome Street in Catskill on Monday evening (June 9). Upon arrival, firefighters found haze in the first-floor wing and quickly identified a stove fire as the source. They removed the stove, extinguished the fire, and spent 30 minutes venting the area to clear the smoke.

The department praised the automatic fire alarms for their role in quickly detecting the fire, emphasizing their importance in saving lives and protecting property. According to the Catskill Fire Company, these alarms are crucial for timely responses to such emergencies.
