The City of Poughkeepsie is currently accepting project proposals as part of its Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). The initiative aims to identify and fund transformative projects within the city's downtown area. Proposals can be submitted until July 21.
As part of the state-funded DRI, Poughkeepsie has been awarded $10 million as the Mid-Hudson Region winner of the eighth round of the initiative. The city will develop a Strategic Investment Plan with up to $300,000 in planning funds from the grant. This plan will focus on economic development, transportation, housing, and community projects that align with Poughkeepsie's vision for revitalization.
The DRI Local Planning Committee, consisting of municipal representatives, community leaders, and other stakeholders, will review and recommend potential projects for funding. Public, not-for-profit, and private project sponsors are encouraged to submit their proposals. The application form is available online and can also be picked up at the City of Poughkeepsie Planning Department or the Adriance Memorial Library.
Proposals can be submitted via email to PoughkeepsieDRI@gmail.com or delivered in person or by mail to the Planning Department at City Hall. In-person and virtual office hours are available for those seeking assistance with their submissions.
