The Town of Saugerties is preparing for a busy evening of public engagement next Wednesday (June 18). The town will host its regular board meeting along with three public hearings at the Greco Senior Center on Market Street, starting at 5 p.m. Residents are encouraged to attend and provide input on several key issues affecting the community.
One of the main topics is a proposal to amend local laws regarding site plans, subdivisions, and special use applications. Additionally, the town seeks feedback on proposed amendments to the Zoning Law concerning lodging and events. Another significant item on the agenda is the draft proposal for the Winston Farms development, which involves a zoning change for housing and commercial use on the 840-acre property. According to the Daily Freeman, developers have submitted a draft generic environmental impact statement focusing on this zoning change.
Residents can participate in person or join the meeting via Webex, as detailed on the town's website. This meeting presents an opportunity for community members to voice their opinions and influence the future development of Saugerties.
