Catskill is gearing up for a public workshop on June 26 to discuss its Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). The workshop will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Catskill Senior Center on Academy Street. Residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the initiative and share their visions for the village's downtown area.

In March, Catskill received a $10 million state grant as part of the DRI, which aims to enhance infrastructure, expand downtown offerings, and create economic and creative opportunities. The village's first Local Planning Committee meeting took place in May, marking the start of a seven-month planning process.

The upcoming workshop will also introduce the Open Call for Projects, which begins on June 30. Community members can sponsor project proposals that align with the DRI's goals. Before the workshop, the Local Planning Committee will hold its second meeting at 5 p.m., where public comments will be welcomed.

According to NEWS10 ABC, the initiative is a significant step towards revitalizing Catskill's downtown, fostering a vibrant community space for residents and visitors alike.
