A Kingston chiropractor, John Boyle, has pleaded guilty to charges involving child sexual abuse materials. Boyle, who runs Boyle Family Chiropractic, admitted to sharing explicit images and videos with his wife, Danielle Scofield-Boyle, and other unknown parties. He initially denied the charges when arraigned in March but changed his plea in Ulster County Court as part of a deal with prosecutors. Boyle now faces a prison sentence ranging from six years and eight months to 20 years, with sentencing scheduled for September 19.

The investigation into Boyle began after the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children tipped off state police about explicit images shared on Snapchat. Further investigation revealed over 1,300 photos and 811 videos on Boyle's phone, depicting child sexual abuse, including infants and toddlers. Some materials also involved necrophilia and bestiality.

Boyle's clinic, once popular in the Hudson Valley, has been closed since October. Despite the serious nature of the charges, Boyle's attorney, Vincent Scala, described him as a "good man" who made "brief errors in judgment." Scala emphasized that the plea deal was chosen to avoid the emotional toll of a trial on Boyle's family and the community.

The case has sparked intense discussion in Kingston, with Ulster County District Attorney Emmanuel C. Nneji expressing hope that the guilty plea would deter similar crimes in the future. Danielle Scofield-Boyle's case remains pending.
