Municipalities across the Hudson Valley are commemorating Juneteenth with various events. In Middletown, residents can enjoy a free film screening and community celebration today, along with a minority business expo. These events aim to honor the significance of Juneteenth and support local businesses.

Meanwhile, in Kingston, city offices are closed in observance of the holiday. Harambee Kingston, a non-profit organization dedicated to cultural and educational events, will host its annual Juneteenth event on Saturday (June 21). The celebration will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a procession from Academy Green Park to the Pine Street African Burial Ground. The event will include an Honoring the Ancestors Ceremony, featuring drums, bells, and songs by the Instruments of Praise Choir. The ceremony will conclude around 11:30 a.m., as noted by Kingston's official website.

Additionally, the City of Yonkers is organizing a citywide Juneteenth Festival at JFK Marina on Saturday (June 21) from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. These events across the Hudson Valley reflect the community's commitment to celebrating freedom and cultural heritage.
