Dutchess Man Charged with Vandalizing Former Workplace

A Pine Plains resident, Michael Fitzpatrick, has been charged with vandalizing his former workplace, the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in Clinton. The 27-year-old allegedly slashed the tires of at least 30 vehicles and burglarized the institute's kitchen. According to the New York State Police, the incident occurred on Tuesday (June 17) when troopers responded to a report of criminal mischief at the facility located on Lake Drive.

Fitzpatrick, who was recently terminated from his kitchen duties at the institute, was arrested on Wednesday (June 18) and charged with burglary in the third degree and 31 counts of criminal mischief in the third degree. Each count of criminal mischief involves damaging property with a value exceeding $250. He was arraigned in the Town of Clinton Court and released under probation supervision.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the New York State Police. Fitzpatrick is scheduled to appear in court on August 7, 2025.
