A tragic accident on Interstate 84 in Kent, New York, claimed the life of 36-year-old Nodir Umarov from Brooklyn on Monday (June 23). According to New York State Police, the crash occurred around 1:48 p.m. when Umarov's 2024 Ram truck collided with a slowing tractor-trailer driven by a 34-year-old Florida man. The tractor-trailer was reducing speed as it approached a work zone.

Umarov's vehicle failed to stop in time, resulting in a collision that pushed the tractor-trailer into a car driven by a 42-year-old Connecticut man. Additionally, Umarov's truck also hit a vehicle driven by a 68-year-old Georgia man. Umarov was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other drivers involved in the accident reported no injuries.

The crash led to the closure of I-84 westbound for several hours, with the road reopening at 8:22 p.m. on the same day. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
