A Poughkeepsie physical therapist, Artemio Talampas, has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse following accusations of inappropriate conduct with a young patient. The alleged incident occurred in April at Hudson Point Physical Therapy, where Talampas is employed. Prosecutors claim the 50-year-old touched the underage girl beneath her clothing during a therapy session.

Talampas faces two misdemeanor charges: third-degree sexual abuse and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17. He was arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and released on $5,000 cash bail or a $10,000 bond, according to NEWS10 ABC. His lawyer maintains that Talampas denies the allegations, highlighting his decades-long career without prior complaints.

The Poughkeepsie Police Department continues to investigate the case and urges anyone with information or who may have been affected to contact them at (845) 451-4000. Anonymous tips can be submitted via their tip line at (845) 451-7577.

Talampas is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow (June 27).
