Starting Saturday (August 2), the Columbia-Greene Humane Society in Hudson, New York, will waive all adoption fees for a limited time. This initiative, supported by the ASPCA, aims to find homes for shelter pets and will run until August 30. During this period, community members can adopt pets at no cost, although the standard screening process will still apply.
All animals available for adoption are already spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, ensuring they are ready for their new homes. The humane society hopes these free adoption days will provide life-changing opportunities for pets to find their forever families.
According to News10, the humane society is dedicated to the humane treatment and well-being of all animals, and they do not euthanize animals due to space constraints. The organization relies on donations and community support, as they do not receive federal, state, or county funding.
Anyone interested in adopting can view the available animals on the Columbia-Greene Humane Society website. For further information, potential adopters can contact the humane society directly.
