The Columbia-Greene Humane Society (CGHS) in Hudson is offering free pet adoptions this weekend. Thanks to support from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), adoption fees will be waived on Saturday (August 2) and again on August 30. All animals available for adoption will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Despite the waived fees, the standard adoption screening process will still be in place to ensure animals find suitable homes.

The humane society emphasizes that these free adoption days are life-changing opportunities for pets to find their forever homes. CGHS is committed to the humane treatment and well-being of all animals and does not euthanize animals due to space constraints. The organization relies on community support and donations, as it does not receive federal, state, or county funding.

To view the animals available for adoption, prospective pet owners can visit the Columbia-Greene Humane Society website. For more information, individuals can contact the humane society at (518) 828-6044. This initiative is part of CGHS's ongoing efforts to provide second chances for shelter pets and promote animal welfare in the community.
