Kingston Police have arrested Jesse Turner-Decardo, 31, in connection with a stabbing that occurred in the Kingscourt-Rideau District on Monday (July 14). The arrest took place in Prescott with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police. Turner-Decardo faces charges related to the violent assault, which left a victim with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident unfolded just before 9:45 p.m. when police received a report of an individual on the ground in the Compton Street area. Responding officers found the victim in a fire access lane between Compton Street and Wilson Street. The victim had been stabbed with an edged weapon, such as a knife, and was transported to the hospital for further care.

Kingston Police confirmed that the suspect had fled the scene before their arrival, but they did not believe there was a further risk to public safety. The investigation continued until Turner-Decardo's arrest on Thursday (July 31). He was transported to Kingston Police headquarters and is scheduled for a bail hearing on Friday (August 1).

Anyone with additional information or video footage of the incident is encouraged to contact Detective Constable Stacey Alarie or Detective Constable Jon Cerutti at the Kingston Police.
