Congressman Pat Ryan will host the third annual Fall Service Academy Information Session on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Marist University's Dyson Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. The event is open to students, parents, and educators interested in learning about the U.S. Service Academy nomination process.

The session aims to inspire future military leaders and expand awareness of the nomination process. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet nomination board interviewers and explore other pathways to service. Congressman Ryan, a West Point graduate, emphasized the importance of developing a diverse officer corps that reflects the community.

Applicants to the U.S. Air Force, Merchant Marine, Military, and Naval academies must receive a nomination from a U.S. Senator, Representative, or service-connected nomination if currently enlisted. The Coast Guard Academy does not require a nomination. Nominated applicants must then apply to and receive an appointment from the respective academy.

The application period for fall 2026 admission closes on November 1, 2025. Interested individuals can find more information on Congressman Ryan’s website or by contacting his district offices. For details about the information session, call 845-443-2930.
