Joseph Clark, the police chief of Fishkill, New York, has resigned after serving for one year. Clark submitted his resignation letter to Town Supervisor Ozzy Albra, effective Wednesday (September 3). In his letter, Clark expressed gratitude, stating, "It has been an honor to serve you, and this great community, in this capacity for the last year."
Town Supervisor Albra praised Clark's performance, saying, "Chief Clark did an excellent job for the town and I congratulate him on his retirement." The town board is scheduled to vote on accepting Clark's resignation at a meeting on Wednesday.
Albra is working with Councilman John Forman and Councilman Brian Wrye to organize interviews for Clark's successor. The town aims to ensure a smooth transition in leadership for the police department.
The resignation comes as Fishkill continues to address various community and policing challenges. The town is located in New York’s Hudson Valley, an area known for its diverse communities and scenic landscapes.
