Kevin Perry, a 41-year-old resident of Carmel in Putnam County has been sentenced to five years in state prison for assaulting his ex-girlfriend with a wooden cutting board. Perry pleaded guilty to the violent felony charge in July. The incident occurred on January 24, 2025, when Perry repeatedly struck the woman on the head with the cutting board, intending to cause physical injury.
Dutchess County Court Judge Jessica Segal handed down the sentence, which also includes three years of post-release supervision. District Attorney Anthony Parisi emphasized the severity of Perry's actions, stating, "This sentence reflects the seriousness of the defendant’s violent conduct. No one should have to endure this kind of brutality, particularly at the hands of someone they once trusted."
