A significant police presence in Wappingers Falls over the weekend raised questions among residents. However, authorities have assured the public that there is no cause for concern. The Wappingers Falls police, along with the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office, were on East Main Street after a deceased man was discovered in an apartment at 2650 East Main Street on Sunday (September 7). The man had not been seen for several days, prompting a welfare check that led to the discovery of his body.
According to police officials, there is no criminal investigation at this time, and they emphasized that there is no threat to public safety. "The public need not be alarmed by today’s activities, as no threat to public safety currently exists," the police told Mid-Hudson News.
The situation has been resolved with the recovery of the body by the medical examiner’s office, and no further action is expected. Residents are encouraged to remain calm as the authorities continue to handle the situation professionally.
