Middletown Police Department has partnered with Urban SDK to enhance traffic control using satellite technology. As the largest city in Orange County, Middletown faces significant traffic challenges. The new system will allow police to monitor traffic flow, volume, and speed in real-time across the city. Police Chief John Ewanciw explained that the system provides a comprehensive map of the city, enabling officers to zoom in on specific streets to assess traffic conditions.

The city has entered a three-year contract with Urban SDK, costing $12,500 annually. Chief Ewanciw believes the investment is justified by the technological advantages it offers the department. This initiative is part of Middletown's efforts to address traffic issues and improve safety for its residents and visitors.

The implementation of this system reflects a growing trend among cities to leverage technology for urban management and safety. As the city continues to grow, such innovations are expected to play a crucial role in maintaining efficient traffic flow and reducing congestion.
