A junior high school student in Hudson has been suspended following an alleged threat involving a gun. The student reportedly mentioned plans to bring a weapon to school while riding the bus on Friday (September 19). Upon learning of the threat on Monday (September 22), the Hudson City School District immediately contacted the Hudson City Police Department to investigate the matter.
According to CBS6 Albany, the district stated that the student will remain suspended while the investigation is ongoing. The district emphasized the importance of safety, stating that the student will not return to school until authorities determine the threat is not credible.
The district also released a statement via their website, affirming their commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment and encouraging the prompt reporting of any safety concerns. They have urged students, families, and staff to report any issues that may impact school safety.
For further inquiries, the district has provided contact information for Principal Kenneth Behr and Associate Principal Carrie Patch. The investigation continues as the district works closely with law enforcement to resolve the situation.
