A 41-year-old man named Derrick Ensley, also known as "Dirk," was arrested by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force on September 11, 2025, in Poughkeepsie. Ensley, who was previously involved in the "Outta They League" drug trafficking network, was initially arrested by federal agents in 2016 and faced a minimum 10-year prison sentence. However, he was released on early parole.

The Dutchess County Drug Task Force received a tip about drug activity at a North Bridge Street residence, leading them to identify Ensley as the suspected dealer. Undercover agents made purchases of cocaine and fentanyl from Ensley, which led to obtaining a search warrant.

On the day of the arrest, task force agents, along with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Unit and the Poughkeepsie Police SWAT Team, executed the warrant. Ensley attempted to escape by climbing out a window but was apprehended by tactical officers. The search resulted in the seizure of large quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, cash, and drug-related materials.

Detective Sergeant Adam Harris, the task force coordinator, confirmed that Ensley was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. The U.S. Marshal Service later took custody of Ensley for violating his federal parole.

The Dutchess County Drug Task Force encourages anyone with information about drug activity to contact their confidential tip line at 845-463-6040.
