Authorities have arrested Anthony Taylor, an 18-year-old suspect from Poughkeepsie, in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Gabriel Mosca. Taylor was apprehended on Thursday (October 16) in Maryland by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the US Marshal’s Service. The arrest comes 13 days after the fatal shooting of Mosca on October 3 in Poughkeepsie.
Taylor, a student at Poughkeepsie High School, was located in Maryland, where he has family ties. He faces charges of murder and is awaiting an extradition hearing to be returned to Dutchess County, New York, to face these charges.
City of Poughkeepsie Police Chief Rich Wilson credited the arrest to the determined efforts of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, with assistance from the Technical Assistance Response Unit and Crime Scene Unit. Chief Wilson stated, "The arrest of Taylor in this violent murder is directly attributed to the determined and diligent effort put forth by numerous staff members in the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department." He also expressed gratitude to state and federal partners for their collaboration in the investigation.
