In Poughkeepsie, a road rage incident on the Mid-Hudson Bridge Thursday night (October 16) resulted in a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. According to Mid Hudson News, the altercation began as a three-car accident around 9:35 p.m. and escalated when one of the parties used a crowbar to smash another vehicle's windows. Amid the chaos, one of the involved parties was hit by a vehicle.
The incident involved a Ford Explorer towing a trailer, which fled towards the Highland side of the bridge. The driver disconnected the trailer in the Highland hamlet and attempted to escape in the SUV. Police later located the vehicle on Church Street in Highland and took the driver into custody.
The City of Poughkeepsie police were assisted at the scene by Town of Lloyd police units, the Highland Fire Department, and the New Paltz Rescue Squad.
