Police in the Town of Newburgh are investigating a gunpoint robbery that took place on Route 9W at Chestnut Avenue late Sunday afternoon (October 19). The incident involved a suspect brandishing a black semi-automatic handgun and robbing a victim of their cellphone. The robbery is believed to have stemmed from a road rage incident, and the victim sustained facial injuries during the encounter.
