Zeus Brewing Company, located in Poughkeepsie has been named one of the best breweries in America. At the 39th annual Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado, Zeus Brewing earned a Gold medal in the Fruited American Sour Ale category for their Urban Oasis brew. This award-winning beer, crafted by Brewmaster Harrison Forman, features raspberry and locally grown lemon verbena. The festival saw participation from 1,555 breweries and cideries across the United States, with a total of 8,315 beers entered into the competition.

In addition to their gold medal, Zeus Brewing was also recognized as Brewer of the Year for breweries producing 250 barrels of beer or less. Jeremy Phillips, a representative of Zeus Brewing, expressed his gratitude, saying, "This makes six years of blood, sweat, and tears worth it. To be recognized as one of the best among such fierce competition is very humbling, but even more rewarding."

Zeus Brewing is not resting on its laurels. On Monday (October 27), they will participate in the "Commander in Cheers" beer releases, celebrating America’s 250th birthday. Zeus Brewing will debut their Zeus Dark Ale, a traditional American dark ale inspired by English pub ales but with a modern hop profile. The ale, featuring Pacific Northwest Cascade hops, will be available at Zeus Brewing Company and Schatzi’s Pub and Bier Garden in Poughkeepsie.
