Detectives from Poughkeepsie traveled to Maryland to take custody of 18-year-old Anthony Taylor, who is accused of fatally shooting 22-year-old Gabriel Mosca on October 3 (Friday). The incident occurred at the corner of Main Street and Garden Street in Poughkeepsie, where Mosca was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Following the shooting, Taylor fled to Maryland. With the assistance of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the US Marshals Service, federal agents arrested Taylor on October 16 (Thursday). According to Mid Hudson News, he was extradited to New York after a hearing and processed at the Poughkeepsie police headquarters. He is now held at the Dutchess County Jail awaiting arraignment in Dutchess County Court.

City of Poughkeepsie Police Chief Richard T. Wilson praised the efforts of the police department in identifying and capturing Taylor. The investigation remains active, and police are urging anyone with information to contact them.

In addition to the Poughkeepsie incident, Taylor faces charges related to a separate shooting in Peekskill on August 17 (Sunday). Peekskill Police reported that shots were fired during an altercation at Main Street and Charles Street, and Taylor will face criminal charges for this incident as well.
