People's Place in Kingston is hosting a free Thanksgiving Day brunch on Thursday (November 27) at the Community Cafe located at 777 Broadway. The event, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon, aims to provide a warm meal to anyone in need. The brunch menu features a variety of dishes including sausage, cheddar hash brown bake, Thanksgiving sliders, oatmeal, and cranberry bread pudding.
Chef Dennis Quinn, a Kingston native, will lead the preparation of the meal with the help of dedicated volunteers. According to the Daily Freeman, this is the third annual Thanksgiving brunch hosted by People's Place. In addition to the brunch, a Latin take-home dinner will be available, featuring Azado Pollo (chicken), Arroz Amarillo (yellow rice), and garden salad.
The event is part of People's Place's ongoing effort to support the community. Executive Director Christine Hein emphasized the importance of such events, noting that many people lack access to cooking facilities and rely on the organization for meals. Spectrum Local News reported that nearly 200 meals were prepared last year, highlighting the significant impact of the event.
People's Place continues to accept donations to support its mission of helping those in need throughout the year. The organization is open Monday through Friday, offering various services to the community.
