The First Presbyterian Church in Hudson is seeking volunteers to help with their annual Thanksgiving feast, which is just six days away. Located on Warren Street, the church has been providing a free Thanksgiving meal to the community for over 50 years. This cherished tradition serves more than 300 community members, including the elderly, homebound, and vulnerable individuals, by delivering meals directly to their doors.

The church relies heavily on the support of volunteers from Hudson and Columbia County to ensure the event runs smoothly. Volunteers are needed for various roles, including meal preparation and delivery. Those interested in helping can find a signup link on the county website.

The Thanksgiving dinner is a key part of the church's mission to support the community. According to First Presbyterian Church's website, the event involves extensive fundraising and coordination. Last year, the church delivered over 200 meals to the homebound and served an additional 85 individuals at a sit-down meal.

In addition to the Thanksgiving feast, the church is involved in other community service initiatives, such as supporting refugee children in Lebanon and providing garden beds for local residents. These efforts reflect the church's commitment to service and justice, as they strive to address the root causes of social issues.
