Deliberations are set to resume today in the murder trial of Jeffrey Field in Catskill. Field faces charges related to the 2021 stabbing death of Adam White and the alleged attack on Christopher Gere. The jury has been deliberating since Wednesday (November 19) and remains deadlocked on one of the charges, according to Greene County Judge Meagan Galligan. The trial began on November 10 and entered its eighth day last Friday (November 21).

Field, 37, was indicted on charges of second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, and second-degree assault. The incident occurred on August 22, 2021, outside White's home on Summit Avenue in Catskill. During the trial, the jury reviewed evidence, including a butterfly knife found in Field's black Dodge Ram pickup truck, as presented by Greene County Assistant District Attorney Krista Kline. The jury also requested readbacks of testimonies from several witnesses, including New York State Police Forensic Analyst Jamie Belrose, who testified about blood found on clothing belonging to Field’s alleged accomplice, Michael White.

Judge Galligan noted that a deadlocked jury is not uncommon and expressed hope that further deliberations might lead to a unanimous verdict. If the jury remains deadlocked, the judge could declare a mistrial, potentially leading to a retrial or the dropping of charges.
