Columbia County residents now have access to a new bus tracking service called BusWhere, which offers real-time updates on bus and shuttle locations. This service allows users to view the current location of a bus on a map directly from their mobile phones. To access the app, residents can scan a QR code available on the Columbia County website or search for BusWhere in the Apple Store or Google Play.
The BusWhere app is part of an initiative to enhance public transportation convenience and reliability in the area. According to The Spark of Hudson, the live tracking feature is available for the popular Shopping Shuttle, operated by ProPark, during extended hours from 2:55 PM to 8:00 PM Monday to Saturday and Sundays from 11 AM to 3 PM. This feature allows passengers to monitor the shuttle's location and receive estimated arrival times, making it easier to plan their journeys.
The initiative is supported by Federal and State grants, as well as contributions from The Spark of Hudson and The Eutopia Foundation. Emmanuel Martinez of ProPark expressed enthusiasm about the improved rider experience, stating, "We are delighted to offer this improved experience to our riders, aiming to make their journey on ProPark's Shopping Shuttle even more enjoyable."
For more information on bus routes, fares, and services, residents can visit the Columbia County Public Transportation website. The service aims to provide a reliable and user-friendly transportation solution for the community.
