A Dutchess County grand jury indicted Anthony Guillen, a 31-year-old man from Poughkeepsie, on multiple charges, including two counts of attempted murder, following a shooting incident in July. The charges stem from an event on July 18, 2025, when Guillen allegedly fired a gun twelve times near 386 Main Street, a busy area in Poughkeepsie, New York. One of the shots hit a bystander in the leg, causing serious injuries that required hospital treatment, according to the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office.

Guillen faces a six-count indictment that includes two counts of second-degree attempted murder, one count of first-degree assault, and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. District Attorney Anthony Parisi praised the efforts of the Poughkeepsie Police Department and its Neighborhood Recovery Unit for their role in reducing gun violence along Main Street. "Every resident of Dutchess County deserves to work, worship, attend school, and enjoy our parks and public spaces without fear of gun violence," Parisi stated, emphasizing the commitment to prosecuting those who threaten community safety.

Guillen's bail is set at $750,000 cash, $1.5 million bond, or a $3 million partially secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday (December 3). The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Liz Kurtz of the Violent Crimes and Dangerous Drugs Unit.
