The Columbia Greene Humane Society (CGHS) in Hudson is currently collecting donations to support pets in need. Longtime supporters Russ Gibson and Duncan Calhoun have pledged to match all donations made through Christmas Day, up to $25,000, in memory of their beloved dog, Nora, who passed away shortly after her ninth birthday. The funds raised will benefit the Zamboni Fund, which provides vital support to the shelter’s free Pet Food Bank and low-cost veterinary clinic.
The Zamboni Fund, named in honor of Gibson and Calhoun's late Shar-Pei, Zamboni, plays a crucial role in ensuring that no animal goes hungry and that affordable veterinary care is available to those in need. To have donations matched, contributors should indicate "CGHS Matching Gift" or "CGHS Christmas Match" on their contributions. Donations can be mailed to Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA, 111 Humane Society Road, Hudson, NY 12534, or made online at cghs.org.
The Columbia Greene Humane Society is committed to the humane treatment and well-being of all animals and does not receive any federal, state, or county funding. The organization relies on community support and outreach to fulfill its mission. For more information on how to help, individuals can contact Rebecca Warner at 518-828-6044, ext. 109.
