The Catskills Fire Tower Challenge, which encourages outdoor activity and exploration, has expanded to include two additional fire towers in Delaware County. Hikers participating in the challenge will now need to visit a total of eight towers, including the newly added Bramley Mountain and Mount Utsayantha fire towers.
Originally launched in 2019, the challenge aims to motivate more people to enjoy the natural beauty of the Catskills region. Participants must complete their hikes to all eight towers by December 31st and submit their hike logs and favorite photos to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation by January 5th, 2027.
This expansion offers outdoor enthusiasts an opportunity to explore more of the scenic Catskills while promoting physical activity and appreciation for nature.
