The City of Newburgh has appointed Chad Wade as its new Superintendent of Public Works, bringing over two decades of experience in public infrastructure and government operations to the role.

Wade, who has served as an assistant city engineer since 2014, will now oversee the city's Sewer, Sanitation, and Streets & Bridges divisions, working directly under the commissioner of Public Works and reporting to the city manager.

"The Superintendent of Public Works oversees the essential services that residents depend on every single day," said City Manager Todd Venning in a statement released by the city. "From sewer systems and sanitation to streets, snow removal, and clean parks, this DPW is foundational to quality of life in Newburgh. Mr. Wade's experience positions him well to lead the department with professionalism and accountability."

In his new position, Wade will be responsible for maintaining municipal buildings and city-owned properties, as well as managing the city's vehicle fleet. These services are considered essential to the daily functioning of Newburgh and directly impact residents' quality of life.

The appointment comes as Newburgh continues to focus on infrastructure improvements and public services across the city. Wade's extensive background in engineering and his familiarity with Newburgh's specific infrastructure challenges from his previous role are expected to provide valuable continuity in leadership.
