Ulster County is now accepting applications for its 2026 Climate Corps internship program, offering paid, hands-on experience in climate action and sustainability to students and young professionals in the Kingston, New York area.

The program is open to anyone 16 years of age or older and runs from Monday (June 8) through Friday (August 14). Interns will earn $18 per hour throughout the ten-week program.

According to program details, participants will be assigned to county departments to help carry out the county's climate and sustainability initiatives and work toward the goals of the New York State Climate Act. Along the way, interns will gain real-world experience in government and receive skill-based training, with guest speakers covering topics like the environment, project management, and public administration.

The program also gives interns a chance to take part in community engagement and fieldwork, making it a well-rounded opportunity for anyone looking to build a career in public service or environmental work.

The deadline to apply is Friday (March 20). Interested applicants can submit their applications online before that date.
