Greene County's District Attorney is working to extradite Naveah Jackson, a 21-year-old from Catskill who was apprehended by federal agents in Florida earlier this week. Jackson was wanted in connection with a high-speed chase that occurred in January, which began when police attempted to serve him with a warrant for weapons charges.

According to the Times Union, Jackson led police on a 19-mile chase from Catskill to New Paltz. The pursuit ended when the car he was driving collided with three vehicles, including a Mazda, a Tesla, and a stationary Suzuki, on Main Street in New Paltz. Jackson then fled the scene on foot, and no injuries were reported.

Authorities, including the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force, tracked Jackson to Pine Hills, Florida. CBS 6 Albany reported that the task force conducted surveillance operations to confirm Jackson's location before taking him into custody.

Jackson is currently being held in a Florida jail, awaiting extradition to New York. Greene County's District Attorney is pushing for his return to face charges related to the chase and the initial firearms violation. News10 noted that the coordination among various law enforcement agencies was crucial in capturing Jackson.
