Two Arrested in Wallkill Fire Investigation

Two men have been arrested following an overnight house fire at 161 Ridgewood Avenue in the Town of Wallkill, New York. Police responded to the fire on Wednesday, February 25, and launched an investigation that led to the arrests of Joseph Rhein, age 33, of Wallkill, and Joseph Calderon, age 47, of Middletown.

According to Mid Hudson News, the investigation was led by Detective Andre Frrontis of the Wallkill Town Police, with assistance from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the Hudson Valley Arson and Explosives Task Force. Both men have been charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

Rhein was arrested on Sunday, March 1, and is being held at Orange County Jail on bail. Calderon was arrested earlier, on Wednesday, February 25, and is being held without bail. As reported by News 12 Hudson Valley, the case remains under investigation.
