Shake Shack will open its newest Hudson Valley location in Poughkeepsie on Tuesday (March 24), bringing its popular burgers, crinkle-cut fries, and shakes to 35 Winslow Gate Road in the Hudson Heritage Plaza. The grand opening is set for 10:30 a.m., and the restaurant will operate daily until 11 p.m.

The Poughkeepsie Shake Shack becomes the brand’s third location in the region, joining existing sites at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in Orange County and a licensed location on the New York State Thruway in Sloatsburg. This is the company’s 67th spot in New York State, marking continued expansion since its start as a Manhattan hot dog cart in 2001, according to Chronogram Magazine.

To celebrate the launch, the first customers through the doors on opening day will receive custom Shake Shack tote bags while supplies last. In addition, for every sandwich sold on March 24, Shake Shack will donate $1 to the Regional Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. The food bank works to fight hunger and reduce food waste across the area, as noted by Times Union.

The new restaurant replaces the former Cue & Brew BBQ space and reflects the ongoing growth of Hudson Heritage, a mixed-use development on the site of the former Hudson River Psychiatric Center. Guests can expect Shake Shack’s signature menu and occasional limited-time offerings throughout the year.

Looking ahead, Shake Shack’s expansion signals a continued trend of fast-casual dining growth in the Mid-Hudson Valley. The company’s opening day charity partnership underscores its focus on community engagement as it settles into the Poughkeepsie area.
